Baleia Azul 24 is located in the sort after Ponta Mamoli area of Mozambique, A favourite among tourists for its pristine beaches and white-washed sand. Baleia Azul 24 has an attractive combination of laidback modern comfort and sumptuous luxury which is ideal for families or groups of friends.

Baleia Azul 24 is about 300 meters back from the beach – this gorgeous lodge really is tranquillity and privacy redefined. Comfort and contemporary elegance combined with practical simplicity make for an amazing holiday in an African bush-beach setting.

Sleeping Arrangements

Baleia Azul 24 sleeps 16 guests in 4 en-suite bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 – 1 King-size bed. En-suite. Air-Conditioned.
Loft room with 2 single beds.

The king-size beds can be moved apart to make 2 single beds.
Two of the bedrooms have flat-screen TVs with Netflix, this is at your own expense.
We recommend this property for 8 adults and 8 children due to the loft rooms.

The En suite bathroom consisting of a shower, a separate toilet, and a hand basin.

All linen is provided and bath towels are provided.

Your Space

Baleia Azul 24 – The real joy of Baleia 24 is the shared main living area, where many a fine evening has been had. The contemporary open-plan kitchen and a tastefully furnished lounge area lead onto a lovely deck with a 20-seater wooden outside dining table, a jacuzzi, pool, sun loungers, chairs, and umbrellas.
(The swimming pool Does NOT have safety nets)
Plenty of shade as the lodge is built amongst the trees! Chameleons, geckos, and tree frogs are frequent visitors.
A large braai area is located on a lower deck with loads of seating as well as a large swimming pool with a waterfall and a baby pool, underwater massage, and rail for aerobics.

The air-conditioned lounge area has comfortable seating and a large television with DSTV activated and ready to watch.
There is a small private gym for the sole use of Lodge guests.

The kitchen is fully equipped with modern gas and electrical appliances.
Stove and Oven.
2 x Fridge-freezers.
1 x Display fridge
1 x Chest freezer.
Microwave.
4 Slice toaster.
Kettle.
Crockery and cutlery for 16 people.
And all the equipment that you would require in a kitchen for self-catering.

There is a wifi router with a Vodacom Mozambique SIM card installed. We provide the first 5 gigs of data free to you, however, if you use this up you can take a drive to the Village and purchase Vodacom Mozambique data. Ask Andile (one of the permanent staff at the house) to assist you with loading the data.

In case of blackouts, a generator can be used. Solar lights are placed outside so the lodge is not in complete darkness during outages.

Frederico’s snorkeling spot is a short 10-minute stroll down the beach.
Ensure you take snorkeling gear along!

There is an entry and exit permit that you need to get at the entrance gate to the Estate, the cost is R 100.00. Remember to hand this permit back when you leave and collect your R 100.00.
There is a public launch site available at R 100.00 per launch.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 vehicle is essential for access to the area and Baleia Azul Beach Estate, otherwise secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Tip –

There is a compulsory daily staff tip – R 70.00 per day for the housekeeper and
R 50.00 per day for the gardener. This includes your day of arrival and departure.
Please ensure you have enough Rands cash on your day of departure date.

Other Things To Note –

Please take note that the swimming pool does not have a child safety net.
Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case. Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes. Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices. The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the Ponta Malongane village It is advisable to bring OR buy bottled drinking water.

Please note we use a septic system and don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper. Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 4000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

REMOTENESS
The lodge is remote and any last-minute repairs & maintenance is logistically time-consuming. We do however always strive to give the best service as soon as possible.

STAFF
Please communicate with the staff when it comes to arriving/leaving times, security, locking of the chalets, the staff is practically available 24 hours a day as they live 150 meters from the lodge, they can also be reached by using the Walki Talki if the guests choose to do so.

INSECTS AND OTHER UNUSUAL ANIMALS
There are insects, mosquitoes, and other animals like monkeys, snakes etc. All doors should stay closed when leaving the rooms.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out is on request only. This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure. Should the house be available, we will deduct the extra charge of R800.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The latest check-out time is
14:30 pm – any later and they will retain the full breakage deposit.  

Please take note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if there are additional guests staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit. 

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
*Service fees are non-refundable.
