Mar Azul 26 with 5 bedrooms sleeping 12 guests, Located on Mar Azul Estate in Ponta Malongane with spectacular views of the Indian Ocean, Mar Azul 26 provides a rare taste of paradise for your beach holiday. This is the ideal place for you to relax, unwind and enjoy the best of what the area has to offer.

Sleeping Arrangements

Mar Azul 26 sleeps 12 guests in 5 en-suite bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 – 2 x Single beds that can be converted to double beds. En Suite.
Bedroom 2 – 2 x Single beds that can be converted to double beds. En Suite.
Bedroom 3 – 2 x Single beds that can be converted to double beds. En Suite.
Bedroom 4 – 2 x Single beds that can be converted to double beds. En Suite.
Bedroom 5 – 1 x Double bed and 2 x Single beds. En Suite.

Each bedroom has stunning sea views. The rooms have overhead ceiling fans and there is a sea breeze for most of the day.

All linen is provided.

Your Space

From the outside deck of the house, each bedroom has its own sliding door entrance facing the sea.

A fully equipped kitchen at Mar Azul 26 has –
6 hob gas stove.
2 chest freezers.
Fridge/freezer combo.
Coffee machine.
Microwave oven.
Ice machine.

The kitchen is open plan to the dining area, bar and TV lounge.
There is a DSTV satellite dish, but please bring your own decoder, smart card, and remote.
DVD player.

On the deck is a private swimming pool and a weber braai is provided.(Swimming pool Does NOT have safety nets)
From the back of the house, there is a stunning inland view over Lake Sugi, where guests can relax and enjoy spectacular sunsets.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area and to Mar Azul Beach Estate, otherwise secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Tip –

There is a compulsory staff tip – R 50.00 per staff member per day. Housekeeper and the gardener. Please pay the staff cash on your departure date.
The tip includes your day of arrival and departure.
Please note that if there are more than 8 people in your group, an extra housekeeper is brought in at R 50.00 per day at your cost.
Guests are well looked after by the full-time housekeeper and gardener who will help carry beach chairs, cooler bags, and umbrellas down the wooden pathway to the beach below.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case. Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes. Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices. The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village and it is advisable to bring bottled drinking water.

Please note we make use of a septic system, don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper. Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 6000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out is on request only. This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure. Should the house be available, we will deduct the extra charge of R800.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The latest check-out time is
14:30 pm – any later and they will retain the full breakage deposit.  

Please take note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if there are additional guests staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit. 

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Swimming Pool –
The swimming pool at all the house’s has no safety features.
Use of the swimming pool and the associated amenities and facilities are strictly at your own risk. Ponta Malongane Accommodation, Homeowner and the Estate booked at cannot be held responsible in the event of accidental injury and or death.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
*Service fees are non-refundable.
