ILHA AZUL HOUSE

Ilha Azul House in Ponta do Ouro, is a charming two-story residence located in a tranquil suburban area of Ponta do Ouro. This delightful retreat offers a serene escape from the bustling city life, while conveniently being only a short 2-minute drive away from the town and beach. With comfortable accommodations for up to 16 guests, and a maximum capacity of 20 guests by utilizing two additional camping beds per floor (available at an extra charge of R250.00 per bed, per night), Ilha Azul House ensures a pleasant stay with its cozy and well-equipped spaces.

Please Take note that during Low and High season dates – Only the bottom section of the house is available for rentals, which is the 9 sleeper.  
Only during Peak season dates, the full house is available for Rentals. 

Sleeping Arrangements

Every bedroom in the house is fitted with air conditioning, and fans are provided in
all common areas. Additionally, both units feature DSTV for your entertainment.

The lower level of the house is meticulously maintained and features four bedrooms and four bathrooms, three of which are en-suite.
Guests can enjoy the convenience of a modern kitchen, a spacious living room,
and a delightful braai area, perfect for socializing.
Outside, the beautifully landscaped gardens and the inviting swimming pool add a
touch of tranquility to your stay.

For larger groups, four additional camping beds are available at a rate of ZAR 250.00 per bed, per night.

GROUND FLOOR (Sleeps 9-11):

Bedroom 1: Queen bed with private bathroom. 
Bedroom 2: Queen bed with private bathroom.
Bedroom 3: Double bed and single bed with private bathroom.
Bedroom 4: Queen bed with a separate full bathroom.

UPSTAIRS FLOOR (Sleeps 9):

Bedroom 1: Double bed and single bed with a separate full bathroom.
Bedroom 2: Queen bed with private bathroom.
Bedroom 3: Queen bed with private bathroom.

The Ground floor of the house features a swimming pool exclusively for guests’ use, surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens.

While towels are not provided, guests are kindly requested to bring their own beach and bath towels. Complimentary laundry facilities, dishwashing liquid, and toilet paper are provided. The house is serviced daily, and our staff will be available during reasonable hours to assist you.

Please take your own beach towels.

Your Space

SWIMMING POOL: We are delighted that you will have the opportunity to enjoy our swimming pool! For your safety, we kindly request that you exercise extra vigilance and take full responsibility for supervising your children while they are in or around the pool. Diving is strictly prohibited as the pool has a depth of 1.4 meters.
The swimming pool at this house has no safety features. Use of the swimming pool and the associated amenities and facilities is strictly at your own risk.

LAUNDRY: Our dedicated staff will ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. While they can assist you with small amounts of daily laundry, please make suitable arrangements with them if you have excessive laundry requirements.

CLEANING DUTIES: To maintain the pristine condition of the interior, our staff requires at least one full hour per day on each floor to perform thorough cleaning and maintenance tasks. We kindly request that you provide them the freedom to carry out their duties.

TORCHES: Although the electricity supply in Ponta has improved, occasional power cuts may still occur, especially during peak seasons and thunderstorms. We recommend that you and your group carry torches for such instances. Please refrain from using candles due to the associated fire risk.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the Ponta Do Ouro area, 2 wheel drive vehicles will only get to where the tar road ends at the Market. Thereafter the road is sandy and gets soft sand in places.
Secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case.
Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes.
Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices.
The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village and it is advisable to bring bottled drinking water.

Please note we use a septic system and don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper.
Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival, Please plan to arrive before 4 pm so you can collect the keys from him.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT
R 1500.00 Bottom floor.
R 3000.00 Full house rental.
Payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out Fee – R 1500.00
Late check-out is on request only.
This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure.
Should the house be available, we will deduct the R 1500.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The late check-out time is 3 pm. 
Any later and they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.

Please take note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if additional guests are staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Swimming Pool –
The swimming pool at all the houses has no safety features.
Use of the swimming pool and the associated amenities and facilities are strictly at your own risk. Ponta Malongane Accommodation, Homeowner, and the Estate booked at cannot be held responsible in the event of accidental injury and or death.

Swimming in the Ocean
We would like to extend a crucial reminder to all visitors planning to swim in the beautiful waters of Mozambique. 
While the allure of Mozambique’s pristine beaches may be enticing, it is imperative to exercise extreme caution when venturing into the ocean.
We regret to inform you that many beaches in Mozambique lack signpost warnings and are not equipped with lifeguards,
significantly increasing the risks associated with swimming.
One of the most significant dangers to be aware of is the presence of rip tides.
These powerful currents can swiftly pull even the strongest swimmers out to sea, posing a grave threat to your safety.
Without proper signage or lifeguards to guide you, it is vital to remain vigilant and heed any natural warnings such as sudden changes in water color or unusually strong currents.
In light of these hazards, we strongly advise all visitors to exercise caution and refrain from swimming alone. Always inform someone on the land of your plans,
and never underestimate the power of the ocean.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
