Kangela 4, the beach holiday house you have been looking for in Ponta Malongane. The design and layout of this airy and tastefully decorated 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms beachfront house have everything you want for an easy and relaxed holiday! There is plenty of opportunity for fun in the sun at the beach or at the pool. Time with friends in the spacious living areas, and private, quiet time in the 4 stand-alone, en-suite, and glass-fronted bedroom chalets, each with its own wooden walkways and lovely views into the sand forest.

Please note – Kangela 4 has a minimum requirement stay of 4 nights.

Sleeping Arrangements

Kangela 4 sleeps 12 guests.
Bedroom 1 – 1 King size bed. En-suite.
Bedroom 2 – 1 King size bed. En-suite.
Bedroom 3 – 2 single beds. En-suite.
Bedroom 4 – 2 single beds. En-suite.
Bedroom 5 –2 single beds and a substantial/adult bunk bed with its own bathroom in the main lodge.

The house sleeps 12 people comfortably (10 adults and 2 children).
All the bedrooms are made up of white percale linen and have towels (Take your own beach towels), there are mozzie nets on the sliding doors and windows and each room has a ceiling fan.

Your Space

The Main House consists of a spacious and light open-plan living area that flows onto a deck and sitting area with gorgeous sea views.
We do not have a TV.
The dining room table seats 12 people comfortably and connects the well-equipped kitchen to the comfy sitting room and bar.

Kitchen, in the Kitchen there are 2 fridges, a chest-deep freeze and an ice maker in the pantry, a gas hob with an electric oven, a dishwasher, and a washing machine.
The toilets work on a septic tank so please use them accordingly.

Hot water runs on a solar system with an electric backup with the bedroom below the pool area the last on the hot water line so it might take a little longer for the hot water to get there.
There is a beach shower attached to the tree on the landing below the pool deck with a tap on the railing.
The water in the house is just below potable, there is a small filtered drinking water tap next to the prep bowl in the kitchen island. We do recommend taking your own drinking water or you can buy it in the village of Ponta Malongane.

Downstairs, next to the pool, there is a gas and a charcoal braai as well as an outside boma. (Swimming pool Does NOT have safety nets)
Wood can be bought from the village or bring your own charcoal.
Please do not collect wood from the forest.

There are 2 red and yellow kayaks that may be used which are kept on the racks under room 4. Please rinse and return them to the racks if you use them.

There is a generator in case of power cuts.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area and to Kangela Estate, otherwise secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Fee –

The compulsory staff fees – Our staff at the house are Tollie (house lady) and Moses. They work from 7.30 am to 4.00 pm with a lunch break. They clean, make beds, carry things to the beach, and can help with food preparation but they don’t cook. Tollie works exclusively for us and a compulsory daily fee of
R 150.00 must be paid directly to her, including the day you arrive and the day you leave.
Moses is shared with the house next door and a compulsory daily fee of
R 75.00 should be paid directly to Moses.
If you would like to you may tip above this at your discretion, it would be appreciated.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case.
Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes.
Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices.
The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village and it is advisable to bring bottled drinking water.

Please note we use a septic system, don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper. Please bring 1 x ply toilet paper.
Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, sunlight liquid, washing detergents for clothes, mosquito repellent, 1 x ply toilet paper, etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the Reception office at Kangela Estate after 2 pm. They should be dropped off again on the date of departure between 8 am and 10 am.
There are no safes in the house and we suggest you keep all valuables locked in your car.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 4000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out Fee – R 1500.00
Late check-out is on request only.
This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure.
Should the house be available, we will deduct the R 1500.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The late check-out time is 3 pm. 
Any later and they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.

Please take note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if additional guests are staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Swimming Pool –
The swimming pool at all the houses has no safety features.
Use of the swimming pool and the associated amenities and facilities are strictly at your own risk. Ponta Malongane Accommodation, Homeowner, and the Estate booked at cannot be held responsible in the event of accidental injury and or death.

Swimming in the Ocean
We would like to extend a crucial reminder to all visitors planning to swim in the beautiful waters of Mozambique. 
While the allure of Mozambique’s pristine beaches may be enticing, it is imperative to exercise extreme caution when venturing into the ocean.
We regret to inform you that many beaches in Mozambique lack signpost warnings and are not equipped with lifeguards,
significantly increasing the risks associated with swimming.
One of the most significant dangers to be aware of is the presence of rip tides.
These powerful currents can swiftly pull even the strongest swimmers out to sea, posing a grave threat to your safety.
Without proper signage or lifeguards to guide you, it is vital to remain vigilant and heed any natural warnings such as sudden changes in water color or unusually strong currents.
In light of these hazards, we strongly advise all visitors to exercise caution and refrain from swimming alone. Always inform someone on the land of your plans,
and never underestimate the power of the ocean.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
