Kangela 9 is a beautiful and well-equipped beach house that has 4 bedrooms and sleeps, 9 people. Kangela 9 is located on the beachfront row the house has its own private wooden walkway that leads to the beach.
Fully equipped and fully serviced, you can have a truly relaxing holiday.

Sleeping Arrangements

Kangela 9 sleeps 9 guests.
Bedroom 1 –
Double bed. En-Suite.
Bedroom 2 –Double bed. En-Suite.
Bedroom 3 – Double bed.
Bedroom 4 – 3 single beds – Kiddies room which overlooks the garden.
Bedrooms 3 and 4 share a bathroom.

All 4 bedrooms are located on the top floor so you can wake up to views of the beautiful Indian Ocean.
The house can sleep a total of 9 people.
All beds have mosquito nets and ceiling fans.

Your Space

Kangela 9 is an airy double-story home that has a large open plan kitchen/lounge and dining area that have glass doors that lead out onto a large wooden deck with Weber braai.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and has a 6 hob gas stove and oven, 2 chest freezers, 1 large fridge, and a coffee machine.

The dining room has a 9 seater dining table and chairs.

There is a fire pit and direct beach access via a wooden walkway to the beach (approximately 50m away).
At the end of the walkway is a viewing deck which is a great spot to unwind (with a beverage in hand) and enjoy the sunset.

Undercover parking for 2 cars.

We do not have a TV.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area and to Kangela Estate, otherwise secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Tip –

There is a compulsory daily staff tip of R 175.00 a day for the housekeeper Victoria and R 100.00 per day for Bongani the gardener, this includes your day of arrival and departure.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case.
Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes.
Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices.
The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village and it is advisable to bring bottled drinking water.

Please note we make use of a septic system, don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper.
Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, sunlight liquid, washing detergents for clothes, mosquito repellent, 1 x ply toilet paper, etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the Reception office at Kangela Estate after 2 pm. They should be dropped off again on the date of departure between 8 am and 10 am.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 3000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out is on request only. This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure. Should the house be available, we will deduct the extra charge of R800.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The latest check-out time is
14:30 pm – any later and they will retain the full breakage deposit.  

Please take note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if there are additional guests staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit. 

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
*Service fees are non-refundable.
