Mar Azul 22 Rates and Availability – All reservations are subject to an additional 2.25% lodge/estate administration fee, calculated on the total accommodation value. Not included in the rate slider.

Mar Azul 22 is furnished and equipped as the owner’s second home. This stylishly decorated house is situated on Mar Azul Estate in Ponta Malongane. Mar Azul 22 sleeps 16 people in 6 en-suite bedrooms with gorgeous 180-degree sea views.
Kindly take note, absolutely NO PARTIES are allowed at this property; you will immediately be asked to vacate the premises if you do not adhere to the above.

Mar Azul 22 sleeps 16 guests in 6 en-suite bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 – 1 x King bed. En Suite. Upstairs, right bedroom.
Bedroom 2 – 1 x Queen bed. En Suite. Upstairs, left bedroom.
Bedroom 3 – 2 Single beds. En Suite. Downstairs, front right bedroom.
Bedroom 4 – 2 Single beds. En Suite. Downstairs front left bedroom.
Bedroom 5 – 2 Single beds. En Suite. Downstairs, the back right bedroom.
Bedroom 6 – 3 bunk beds (6 people). En Suite. Downstairs, back left bedroom
All singles can be pushed together.
All linen is provided.

Ice machine.

The kitchen also has a separate scullery.
The living area has a flat-screen TV.
No DSTV – bring your cord for SATV and to use Netflix via Wifi.
Mar Azul 22 has Starlink uncapped WIFI.
A large wooden deck surrounds the house and offers space for entertaining around the solar-heated swimming pool and braai area.
There are 2 outside showers.

The deck has a private swimming pool, and a Weber braai is provided. (Swimming pool does NOT have safety nets)

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area, and to Mar Azul Beach Estate; otherwise, secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Afterward, you will need to use the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around the area.
Staff Fee –
There are 2 full-time staff members, Joseph and Yvonne.
They clean, make beds, and wash dishes.
A compulsory staff Fee of R 100.00 per staff member per day is payable on your departure date.
This includes your arrival and departure days.
REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 6000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages, lost keys, and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Check-out: 10:00 AM
Late check-out Fee – R 1500.00
Late check-out is on request only.
This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure.
Should the house be available, we will deduct the R 1500.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The late check-out time is 3 pm.
If you check out later, they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.
Please note that no extra guests will be allowed beyond the house’s maximum occupancy; any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate are fined if additional guests stay at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.
No beds/mattresses are to be moved from any of the bedrooms due to damage caused whilst doing so. The breakage deposit will be retained should you do so.
If a group of young people books at the property, please note that all guests under 25 years old must be accompanied by a parent or adult supervisor.
No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules, then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case. Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes. You can also purchase Mozambique SIM cards and data at reasonable prices in the local market in Ponta Malongane. The Estate uses borehole water, which is usually brownish. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village, and it is advisable to bring bottled drinking water.
Please note we use a septic system, and you must not flush anything other than toilet paper. Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.
Swimming Pool –
The swimming pool at all the houses has no safety features.
Use of the swimming pool and the associated amenities and facilities is strictly at your own risk. Ponta Malongane Accommodation, Homeowner, and the Estate booked at cannot be held responsible in the event of accidental injury and/or death.
Swimming in the Ocean
We would like to extend a crucial reminder to all visitors planning to swim in the beautiful waters of Mozambique.
While the allure of Mozambique’s pristine beaches may be enticing, it is imperative to exercise extreme caution when venturing into the ocean.
We regret to inform you that many beaches in Mozambique lack warning signs and lifeguards, significantly increasing the risks of swimming.
One of the most significant dangers is the presence of rip tides.
These powerful currents can swiftly pull even the strongest swimmers out to sea, posing a grave threat to your safety.
Without proper signage or lifeguards to guide you, it is vital to remain vigilant and heed any natural warnings such as sudden changes in water color or unusually strong currents.
In light of these hazards, we strongly advise all visitors to exercise caution and refrain from swimming alone. Always inform someone on the land of your plans,
and never underestimate the power of the ocean.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival: 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival: 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
