Baleia Azul House 20 in Ponta Mamoli, Mozambique. Baleia 20 is a 12-sleeper
(8 adults + 4 children under 12 years old) self-catering home and is located on the beachfront row of houses, which has a walkway leading from the swimming pool down onto the beach.
The famous Fredericos snorkeling spot is situated a mere 5-minute walk down the beach from this house.

Did we mention that you also have a private path to the beach below?

2027 Rates
Baleia 20 sleeps; 8 adults and 4 children under 12 years old.
Low midweek (Sunday – Thursday) – R 3000.00 per night for the first 4 people + R 285.00 per person per night thereafter. Capped at R 5280.00 per night.
Low weekend (Fri and Sat) – R 5280.00 per night.
High season = R 7300.00 per night.
Peak season – R 9800.00 per night.
Refundable breakage deposit – R 4000.00

Sleeping Arrangements

Baleia Azul 20 has 4 spacious en suite bedrooms; two are sea-facing, and two are garden-facing.
The entire house has sliding gauze. Comfortably sleeping 12 people (8 adults + 4 children under 12 years old), the bedroom configuration is as follows:

Bedroom 1 – sea facing – 1 king bed – sleeps 2.
This bedroom has an en suite bathroom and an outdoor shower for those hot days.
Bedroom 2 – sea facing – 1 king bed – sleeps 2.
This bedroom has an inside en suite bathroom as well as an outside shower for those hot days
Bedroom 3 – 1 queen bed and 1 bunk bed (bunk beds are for children under 12 years old) – sleeps 4. En suite.
Bedroom 4 – 1 queen bed and 1 bunk bed (bunk beds are for children under 12 years old) – sleeps 4. En suite.
All bedrooms are air-conditioned and also have ceiling fans.
Lock-up safes in each room.

Note: In bedrooms 3 and 4, the Bunk beds are only for children under 12 years old.
King beds in bedrooms 1 and 2 can not be set up as 2 single beds.

All linen is provided, and bath towels are provided.

Your Space

The open-plan kitchen, dining room, lounge, and indoor bar area overlook the swimming pool (the swimming pool does NOT have safety nets) and the ocean, and open onto an outdoor lounging area.
The wooden deck extends toward the sunken swimming pool and private beach walkway.

The house is fully equipped for self-catering and has staff daily to clean up.
The kitchen is equipped with
2 drink fridges,
2 double-door fridges/freezers,
1 chest freezer,
A washing machine, and
a gas hob and oven.

Outside, you’ll find a Weber braai and a stainless steel wood/charcoal braai.
The staff can set up a gazebo and camping chairs on the beach for you. Please bring your own.

Complimentary Starlink WIFI available; ask the staff for the password.

PLEASE NOTE – There is NO TV / DSTV.

The water comes from a borehole, and there is a filter system, but it’s advisable to take drinking water with you.

Frederico’s snorkeling spot is a short 10-minute stroll down the beach.
Ensure you take snorkeling gear along!

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 vehicle is essential for access to the area and Baleia Azul Beach Estate; otherwise, secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at an extra cost. Afterward, you will need to use the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around the area.

You need an entry and exit permit at the entrance gate to the Estate; the cost is R 100.00. Remember to hand this permit back when you leave and collect your R 100.00.

Staff Fee –

While the staff are paid a salary, gratuities are welcome, as they work extremely hard to ensure your stay in our Beach House is unforgettable for all the right reasons.
Please don’t be shy. Should you want either of them to do ANYTHING else for you, please negotiate with them directly.
They are both, of course, keen to earn a bit of extra money.
LAUNDRY: Macici will do laundry if required for R120 per load.
If the group consists of more than 6 people, an extra helper is brought in at R 125.00 per day. Including the day of your arrival and departure.
Please bring cash to pay the staff.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 4000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages, lost keys, and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. We will refund the balance to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Check-out: 10:00 AM
Late check-out Fee – R 1500.00
Late check-out is on request only.
This is due to incoming bookings on your departure day.
Should the house be available, we will deduct the R 1500.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The late check-out time is 3 pm.
If you are late, they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.

Please note that no extra guests are allowed beyond the maximum occupancy of the house; any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if additional guests are staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.

If a group of young people books the property, all guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or adult supervisor.

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
If you do not adhere to these rules, the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Other Things To Note –

Please take note that the swimming pool does not have a child safety net.
Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case. Cellphone reception can be patchy, but it can also be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes. You can also buy Mozambique SIM cards and data at reasonable prices at the local market in Ponta Malongane. The Estate uses borehole water, which is usually brownish. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the Ponta Malongane village. It is advisable to bring OR buy bottled drinking water.

Please note we use a septic system and don’t flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilets. Guests must bring their own consumables e.g., (food and liquids, mosquito repellent, etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.

Swimming Pool –
The swimming pool at all the houses has no safety features.
Use of the swimming pool and the associated amenities and facilities is strictly at your own risk. Ponta Malongane Accommodation, the homeowner, and the Estate booked at cannot be held responsible in the event of accidental injury and/or death.

Swimming in the Ocean
We would like to extend a crucial reminder to all visitors planning to swim in the beautiful waters of Mozambique.
While the allure of Mozambique’s pristine beaches may be enticing, you must exercise extreme caution when venturing into the ocean.
We regret to inform you that many beaches in Mozambique lack signpost warnings and are not equipped with lifeguards,
significantly increasing the risks associated with swimming.
One of the most significant dangers is the presence of rip tides.
These powerful currents can swiftly pull even the strongest swimmers out to sea, posing a grave threat to your safety.
Without proper signage or lifeguards to guide you, stay vigilant and heed natural warnings such as sudden changes in water color or unusually strong currents.
In light of these hazards, we strongly advise all visitors to exercise caution and refrain from swimming alone. Always inform someone on the land of your plans,
and never underestimate the ocean’s power.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival: 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival: 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
