DUNE CHALETS WAKENE BEACH ESTATE

Dune Chalets at Wakene Beach Estate is 500m from the beachfront and has no sea view but guests have a peaceful forest setting from which to explore the Surrounding Ponta Malongane Attractions.

Wakene Beach Estate is located on 18 acres of Coastal Dune Forest with its own beachfront, 2 km North of Ponta Malongane, 7 km from Ponta do Oura and 15km from the Kosi bay border.

Sleeping Arrangements

There are 3 dune chalets available, 2 x 4 sleepers, and 1 x 8 sleepers.

4 sleepers – These have 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.
Bedroom 1 – Double bed.
Bedroom 2 – 2 Single beds.

8 sleeper – This has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
Bedroom 1 – 1 Double bed and a bunk bed – En-suite.
Bedroom 2 – 1 Double bed.
Bedrooms 3 – 2 Single beds.

All linen and bath towels are provided.

Access from the Dune Chalets to the beach area from a communal parking area and a wooden walkway with stairs. 500 meters away.

The units are serviced daily by a full-time cleaner.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with a
Fridge/freezer.
Microwave oven.
Kettle.
Two plate cooker.
The kitchen is open-plan to the living area. There is a private braai/Lapa area at each unit.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 vehicle is essential for access to the area and Wakene Beach Estate, otherwise secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Service Fee –

Wakene Dune Chaltes are serviced by a housekeeper once a day. 
R 50.00 per day per staff member (1).
This includes the day of arrival and the day of departure.
This will be added to your invoice for pre-payment.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case. Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes. Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices. The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the Ponta Malongane village It is advisable to bring OR buy bottled drinking water.

Please note we make use of a septic system, don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper. Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 1000.00 payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded into your bank account.

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
An R 800.00 charge will be levied for early check-in and late check-outs (2:30 pm – Latest).
No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.
