Kangela 1, Step out onto the Beach from Kangela 1. Located within the Kangela Beach Estate in Ponta Malongane Mozambique. Kangela 1 is a 4-bedroom self-catering home that accommodates 8 guests. All bedrooms at Kangela 1 have en-suite bathrooms, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, and glass doors that lead out onto the patio with a private swimming pool and stunning sea views.

Please note – Kangela 1 has a minimum requirement stay of 3 nights.

Sleeping arrangements

Kangela 1 sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 –
King-sized bed and en-suite bathroom, ceiling fan, mosquito net.
Bedroom 2 – King-size bed and en-suite bathroom, ceiling fan, mosquito net.
Bedroom 3 – 2 three-quarter beds and a full en-suite bathroom, ceiling fan, mosquito net.
Bedroom 4 – 2 three-quarter beds and en-suite bathroom, ceiling fan, mosquito net.

All bedrooms have doors that lead out to the patio with stunning sea views.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HOUSE IS RENTED AS AN 8-SLEEPER.

Your space

Upstairs you will find the open-plan kitchen, lounge, dining, and bar area with glass doors that lead out onto the patio with a sea view.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with a
6 Hob gas stove and electric oven.
Large fridge.
2 Cooler water machines.
Hot tray.
2 Chest freezers.
Ice machine.

The dining area has a 10-seater table and chairs. The lounge has 2 x 2 seater couches and 2 x 1 seater couches.
The bar area has 12 x bar chairs, 3 bar fridges, and beautiful sea views.

There is a TV room with a flat-screen TV, and DSTV and the room has a ceiling fan.

The patio has braai facilities with a gas braai, a 10-seater dining table and chairs, and 360-degree sea views.
Private swimming pool. (Swimming pool Does NOT have safety nets)
Private walkway to the beach.
Undercover parking for 3 cars.

Guest access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to Kangela Beach Estate and the area, otherwise, secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Fee –

There is a compulsory daily staff fee.
Housekeeper: MZN 500 /R 150.00
The gardener: MZN 250 /R 75.00
This includes the day of arrival and departure day – to be paid in cash on the departure date.
Please ensure you have enough Mzn/Rands cash on you on your departure date. Updated 2024.

Other things to note –

Minimum stay During low and high seasons there is a minimum stay of 3 nights and  During peak season Minimum stay of 7 nights.

Power cuts are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please make use of the LED energy-saving lamps, sit back, and enjoy the ambiance.
Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. The signal is generally available at 360 Restaurant when needed.
Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices.
The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. It is advisable to bring bottled drinking water. Please note we make use of a septic system and don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper.
Please bring 1 x ply toilet paper.
Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, sunlight liquid, washing detergents for clothes, mosquito repellent, 1 x ply toilet paper, etc)

Keys to the unit can be collected from the Reception office at Kangela Estate after 2 pm. They should be dropped off again on the date of departure between 8 am and 10 am.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 4000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out Fee – R 1500.00
Late check-out is on request only.
This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure.
Should the house be available, we will deduct the R 1500.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The late check-out time is 3 pm. 
Any later and they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.

Please take note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if additional guests are staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Swimming Pool –
The swimming pool at all the houses has no safety features.
Use of the swimming pool and the associated amenities and facilities are strictly at your own risk. Ponta Malongane Accommodation, Homeowner, and the Estate booked at cannot be held responsible in the event of accidental injury and or death.

Swimming in the Ocean
We would like to extend a crucial reminder to all visitors planning to swim in the beautiful waters of Mozambique. 
While the allure of Mozambique’s pristine beaches may be enticing, it is imperative to exercise extreme caution when venturing into the ocean.
We regret to inform you that many beaches in Mozambique lack signpost warnings and are not equipped with lifeguards,
significantly increasing the risks associated with swimming.
One of the most significant dangers to be aware of is the presence of rip tides.
These powerful currents can swiftly pull even the strongest swimmers out to sea, posing a grave threat to your safety.
Without proper signage or lifeguards to guide you, it is vital to remain vigilant and heed any natural warnings such as sudden changes in water color or unusually strong currents.
In light of these hazards, we strongly advise all visitors to exercise caution and refrain from swimming alone. Always inform someone on the land of your plans,
and never underestimate the power of the ocean.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
*Service fees are non-refundable.
