KANGELA 14

Kangela 14: Make barefoot memories in this spacious double-story house that sleeps 12 people. Kangela 14 has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. It is located in Ponta Malongane within the Kangela Beach Estate.
Kangela 14 offers a private swimming pool, multiple entertainment areas, sea views, a private garden, a private beach deck, and easy beach access, making it a great choice for families and groups seeking a relaxed Mozambique beach holiday.

Kangela 14 Beach Access – The beach house is situated less than a 3-minute walk from the beach. A sandy pathway leads from the house to a short wooden walkway with a few steps, ending at the private wooden beachfront gazebo.

Please note that Kangela 14 has a minimum stay requirement of 3 nights.
During peak season, the owner may require a 7-night or longer stay.

Kangela 14 sleeps 12 guests in 6 bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 – Double Bed. En-suite.

Bedroom 5 – Double Bed.
Bedroom 6 – Double Bed.

There are 5 bathrooms.
4 bedrooms are en suite, and the other 2 bedrooms share 1 bathroom.
All bedrooms have overhead ceiling fans, and Kangela 14 has added air conditioning to all bedrooms; the doors have sliding mosquito screens.
Two of the upstairs bedrooms enjoy partial sea views. 
We provide all linen and bath towels.
Please take your own beach towels.

Your Space

Kangela 14 is fully equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Downstairs, a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor deck living area with a large dining table overlook the swimming pool and garden. 
The fully equipped self-catering kitchen includes:
Gas stove
Oven
Microwave
Fridge, upright freezer, chest freezer, additional fridge and freezer
Ice maker
Toaster
Hand mixer
The kitchen has a coffee percolator and a Nespresso coffee machine.
Guests using the Nespresso machine should bring compatible capsules.

The downstairs living area opens onto a spacious outdoor deck with a large dining table overlooking the private swimming pool and garden, an inviting space for relaxed family meals and afternoons by the pool.
(Swimming pool does NOT have safety nets)

The upstairs living area is designed to make the most of the coastal setting, with a comfortable lounge, bar and large outdoor deck offering partial views of the Indian Ocean.
Complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi is available throughout your stay.

There is also a boma with a fire pit and chairs where you can sit and braai your favorite meal while listening to the ocean. There is a Weber braai.
Please bring your own charcoal.

MONKEYS  – Kangela Estate is home to samango and vervet monkeys. Please do not feed the monkeys. Feeding encourages them to return to the houses and can create ongoing problems. Do not leave fruit or other food exposed on counters or tables. Store food in the fridge or closed cupboards, and keep windows and doors closed when you leave to prevent monkeys from entering.

Please also ensure that all upstairs doors and windows are closed at night.

Wi-fi is provided.
Note: although Wi-Fi is provided, it may have technical issues and might not work. Because the estate is in a remote area, the problem may not be fixed immediately; it may take a day or more for a technician to come out and resolve it.
Do not rely on it if you need to be online to work.
If it does not work, please report the issue to the staff, who will inform the homeowner to try to resolve the problem

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area and Kangela Estate; otherwise, you can arrange secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer at an extra cost. Afterward, you will need to use the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around the area.

Staff Fee – 

CLEANING FEE
* Daily Rates (must include the day of arrival and day of departure):
o Housekeeper: MZN 500 /R 150.00 per day.
o The gardener: MZN 250 /R75.00 per day.
Duties include washing dishes, doing all laundry, ironing, washing cars, carrying beach gear to and from the beach, and general cleaning of the house and pool.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 5000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. We will deduct the cost of any breakages and lost keys or remotes from this deposit. We will refund the balance to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Late check-out Fee – R 1500.00
Late check-out is on request only.
This is due to incoming bookings on your departure day.
If the house is available, we will deduct R 1500.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The late check-out time is 3 pm.
If you are late, they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.

Please note that no extra guests are allowed beyond the house’s maximum occupancy; any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate will be fined if extra guests stay at the house.
This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.

If a group of young people books at the property, please note that all guests under 25 years old must be accompanied by a parent or adult supervisor.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case.
Cellphone reception can be a challenge, but it can also be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes.
You can also buy Mozambique SIM cards and data at the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices.
The Estate uses borehole water, which is usually brownish in color. If you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village, and we recommend bringing bottled drinking water.

Please note we use a septic system, so don’t flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilets.
Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the Reception office at Kangela Estate after 2 pm. Please drop them off on the date of departure between 8 am and 10 am.

Swimming Pool –
The swimming pool at all the houses has no safety features.
Use of the swimming pool and the associated amenities and facilities is strictly at your own risk. Ponta Malongane Accommodation, the homeowner, and the Estate booked at cannot be held responsible in the event of accidental injury and/or death.

Swimming in the Ocean
We would like to remind all visitors planning to swim in Mozambique’s beautiful waters.
While the allure of Mozambique’s pristine beaches may be enticing, exercise extreme caution when venturing into the ocean.
We regret to inform you that many beaches in Mozambique lack signpost warnings and are not equipped with lifeguards,
significantly increasing the risks associated with swimming.
One of the biggest dangers is rip tides.
These powerful currents can quickly pull even strong swimmers out to sea, posing a serious threat to your safety.
Without proper signage or lifeguards to guide you, stay vigilant and heed natural warnings such as sudden changes in water color or unusually strong currents.
Given these hazards, we strongly advise all visitors to exercise caution and avoid swimming alone. Always inform someone on the land of your plans,
and never underestimate the power of the ocean.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival: 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival: 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
