KANGELA HOUSE 14

Kangela 14, It is time to make some barefoot memories in this double-story house that can sleep, 12 people. Kangela 14 has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. It is located in Ponta Malongane within the Kangela Beach Estate.

Please note – Kangela 14 has a minimum requirement stay of 3 nights

Sleeping Arrangements

Kangela 14 sleeps 12 guests.
Bedroom 1 – 
Double Bed. En-suite.
Bedroom 2 – Double Bed. En-suite.
Bedroom 3 – Double Bed. En-suite.
Bedroom 4 – Double Bed.
Bedroom 5 – Double Bed.
Bedroom 6 – Double Bed.

There are 5 bathrooms.
3 bedrooms are en-suite and 3 bedrooms share the other 2 bathrooms.
3 of the bathrooms have showers and the 1 bathroom in the main bedroom has a bathtub.
All the bedrooms have overhead ceiling fans.
All linen and bath towels are provided.
Please take your own beach towels.

Your Space

Kangela 14 is fully equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The lounge and bar are upstairs with a large outside deck overlooking the ocean. Enjoy an ice-cold 2M beer while watching whales and dolphins play in the distance.

Downstairs is a fully equipped kitchen and outside deck living area with a large dining table, overlooking the swimming pool and garden.
(Swimming pool Does NOT have safety nets)
There is also a boma with a fire pit and chairs where you can sit down and braai your favourite meal while listening to the sounds of the ocean. There is a Webber Braai, Please bring your own charcoal with you.

Please do not leave food out when you leave the house, as this will encourage a visit from the monkeys.

Please also ensure that all upstairs doors and windows are closed at night.

Note – although Wifi is provided, sometimes there are technical issues and it might not work. Because the estate is located in a remote area the problem might not be fixed at the same time, it might take a day or more to get it working if a technician has to come out.
Do not rely on it if you want to use the wifi if need to be online to work etc.
If it does not work, please report the issue to the staff who will inform the homeowner to try and resolve the problem

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area and to Kangela Estate, otherwise, secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Fee – 

CLEANING FEE
* Daily Rates (must include the day of arrival and day of departure):
o Housekeeper: MZN 500 /R 150.00 per day.
o The gardener: MZN 250 /R75.00 per day.
Duties include washing dishes, doing all of your laundry, ironing, washing cars, carrying your beach gear to and from the beach, and tending to the general cleaning of the house and the pool.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case.
Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes.
Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices.
The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village and it is advisable to bring bottled drinking water.

Please note we make use of a septic system, and don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper.
Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the Reception office at Kangela Estate after 2 pm. They should be dropped off again on the date of departure between 8 am and 10 am.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 3000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out Fee – R 1500.00
Late check-out is on request only.
This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure.
Should the house be available, we will deduct the R 1500.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The late check-out time is 3 pm. 
Any later and they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.

Please Note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if there are extra guests at staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.

Swimming Pool –
The swimming pool at all the houses has no safety features.
Use of the swimming pool and the associated amenities and facilities are strictly at your own risk. Ponta Malongane Accommodation, Homeowner, and the Estate booked at cannot be held responsible in the event of accidental injury and or death.

Swimming in the Ocean
We would like to extend a crucial reminder to all visitors planning to swim in the beautiful waters of Mozambique. 
While the allure of Mozambique’s pristine beaches may be enticing, it is imperative to exercise extreme caution when venturing into the ocean.
We regret to inform you that many beaches in Mozambique lack signpost warnings and are not equipped with lifeguards,
significantly increasing the risks associated with swimming.
One of the most significant dangers to be aware of is the presence of rip tides.
These powerful currents can swiftly pull even the strongest swimmers out to sea, posing a grave threat to your safety.
Without proper signage or lifeguards to guide you, it is vital to remain vigilant and heed any natural warnings such as sudden changes in water color or unusually strong currents.
In light of these hazards, we strongly advise all visitors to exercise caution and refrain from swimming alone. Always inform someone on the land of your plans,
and never underestimate the power of the ocean.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
*Service fees are non-refundable.
