Mar Azul 14 is a stunning Beach home with incredibly beautiful views of the ocean. Mar Azul 14  sleeps 22 guests in 7 air-conditioned bedrooms. A private swimming pool on the deck overlooking the beach, open sky, and natural landscape.

Sleeping Arrangements

Mar Azul 14  sleeps 22 guests.
A combination of 10 Adults and 12 Children.

There are 7 bedrooms and all bedrooms are air-conditioned and have ceiling fans.

First floor – 
Bedroom 1 – Queen – 2 people. Opens onto the back deck amongst the Milkwood Trees.
Bedroom 2 – Queen – 2 people.  Open onto the back deck amongst the Milkwood Trees.
Bedroom 3 – Queen – 2 people. Open onto the back deck amongst the Milkwood Trees.
Bedroom 4 – Queen –  2 people. Open onto the back deck amongst the Milkwood Trees.

3 bathrooms on the 1^st floor – 4 bedrooms share these 3 bathrooms.

Ground floor
Bedroom 5 – 3 x bunk beds – 2 people on each bunk  = 6 people.
Bedroom 6 – queen – 2 people. Ensuite. 
Bedroom 7 – 3 x bunk beds – 2 people on each bunk  = 6 people.
2 bathrooms on the ground floor.

Suitable for a combination of 10 Adults and 12 Children.
The 4 bedrooms with Queen beds are on the first floor and they open onto the back deck amongst the Milkwood Trees.

All linen is provided.

Your Space

This double-story beach house has an open-plan entertainment area comprising a large kitchen fully equipped for self-catering, and dining, and a living area surrounded by a large deck with a dhow bar and pool overlooking the Indian Ocean.

On the first floor are the kitchen, dining, and living areas with drinks counters all with sea views.
On the deck is the swimming pool with Pool Bar and the fire pit with sea views.
(Swimming pool Does NOT have safety nets)

80m/2 Back Deck situated amongst the Milkwood Trees

The Kitchen is equipped with –
1 x Double Door Glass Fridges.
2 x Food Freezers.
1 x Bait Freezer.
1 x Electric Stove with Gas Top.
1 x Microwave Oven.
1 x Jet Master Gas Braai.
1 x Tumble Drier.
1 x Washing Machine.
1 x Dishwasher.

There are an additional 2 x Private Outside Showers with Sea Views and
1 x Private Outside Toilet.

The ground floor has the kid’s Lounge and the Laundry.

No candles are allowed inside the house as the house is built from wood, which is a fire hazard.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area and to Mar Azul Beach Estate, otherwise, secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Fee –

There is a compulsory staff fee for the 2 Staff members, Albino who assists with maintenance, and Juliet the housekeeper.
They help make your stay a memorable one.
Albino must be paid R 200.00 per day and
Juliet must be paid R 150.00 per day.
Please pay all tips to Albino and he will distribute them accordingly.

Other Things To Note –

ELECTRICITY— Pre-paid Electricity is loaded by the staff on the day of your arrival. It is for the client’s account.
When a client arrives at the house, the staff will take a reading of the kwh left on the meter. The client pays for the electricity by topping up the meter as needed. On the date of departure, the client needs to top up the difference between the first and last day, meaning, the amount that was on the meter on the day of arrival, needs to be left on the meter when you depart. 
No refunds are permitted for overcharged meters or unused electricity. 

• Arrival: Pre-paid Electricity is loaded by the staff on the first day and becomes the client’s responsibility.
• Meter Reading: Staff record the starting kWh on arrival.
• Payment: The client tops up the meter as needed.
• Departure: The client should leave the meter with the same kWh reading as when they arrived.
  No refunds for unused electricity or overpayment.

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case.
Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes.
Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices.
The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village and it is advisable to bring bottled drinking water.

Please note we use a septic system and don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper.
Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 6000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out Fee – R 1500.00
Late check-out is on request only.
This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure.
Should the house be available, we will deduct the R 1500.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The late check-out time is 3 pm. 
Any later and they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.

Please take note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if additional guests are staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Swimming Pool –
The swimming pool at all the houses has no safety features.
Use of the swimming pool and the associated amenities and facilities are strictly at your own risk. Ponta Malongane Accommodation, Homeowner, and the Estate booked at cannot be held responsible in the event of accidental injury and or death.

Swimming in the Ocean
We would like to extend a crucial reminder to all visitors planning to swim in the beautiful waters of Mozambique. 
While the allure of Mozambique’s pristine beaches may be enticing, it is imperative to exercise extreme caution when venturing into the ocean.
We regret to inform you that many beaches in Mozambique lack signpost warnings and are not equipped with lifeguards,
significantly increasing the risks associated with swimming.
One of the most significant dangers to be aware of is the presence of rip tides.
These powerful currents can swiftly pull even the strongest swimmers out to sea, posing a grave threat to your safety.
Without proper signage or lifeguards to guide you, it is vital to remain vigilant and heed any natural warnings such as sudden changes in water color or unusually strong currents.
In light of these hazards, we strongly advise all visitors to exercise caution and refrain from swimming alone. Always inform someone on the land of your plans,
and never underestimate the power of the ocean.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
*Service fees are non-refundable.
