Mar Azul 6 is just steps from the beach. Mar Azul 6 is a delightful beachfront house at the Mar Azul Estate in Ponta Malongane has 5 bedrooms and sleeps 12 people. The Glass doors open onto a large deck with endless sea views of the majestic deep blue ocean.

Sleeping Arrangements

Mar Azul 6 sleeps, 12 guests.
Upstairs.
Bedroom 1 – King-size bed.
Bedroom 2 – Queen-size bed.
Bedroom 3 – 2 x Single beds.
Bedroom 4 – 2 x Single beds.
The upstairs area has 2 bathrooms with a shower, basin, toilets, and hot and cold running water. 
Downstairs under the main house is 
Bedroom 5 – 2 x Single beds and 1 x bunk bed – sleeps 4 people.
The downstairs area has 1 bathroom with a shower, basin, and toilet.

All bedrooms have overhead ceiling fans.
All linen is provided.

Your Space

The large glass doors allow for sunlit interiors and airy, cool spaces within the house. The undercover patio has a white wicker dining suite and comfortable recliners where guests can kick back and enjoy the endless ocean views.
The deck area is private with a built-in braai area.

A fully equipped kitchen for self-catering comes with a 4 hob electric stove and oven, 2 large fridges/freezers, a chest freezer, and a washing machine.
There is a separate scullery.

Mar Azul 6 shares an outside braai with Mar Azul House 5, so please just arrange with them so that you do not braai at the same time.

Please note – There is No microwave provided at Mar Azul 6.
No TV.

No candles are allowed inside the house as the house is built from wood, which is a fire hazard.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area and to Mar Azul Beach Estate, otherwise secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Tip –

The house has a full-time housekeeper. Please feel free to give her a tip at the end of your stay if you wish.
She will clean the house, make beds, wash dishes, etc. She will only do bed linen laundry if the weather permits.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case.
Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes.
Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices.
The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village and it is advisable to bring bottled drinking water.

Please note that we use a septic system, and don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper.
Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 4000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out Fee – R 1500.00
Late check-out is on request only.
This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure.
Should the house be available, we will deduct the R 1500.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The late check-out time is 3 pm. 
Any later and they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.

Please take note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if additional guests are staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Swimming in the Ocean
We would like to extend a crucial reminder to all visitors planning to swim in the beautiful waters of Mozambique. 
While the allure of Mozambique’s pristine beaches may be enticing, it is imperative to exercise extreme caution when venturing into the ocean.
We regret to inform you that many beaches in Mozambique lack signpost warnings and are not equipped with lifeguards,
significantly increasing the risks associated with swimming.
One of the most significant dangers to be aware of is the presence of rip tides.
These powerful currents can swiftly pull even the strongest swimmers out to sea, posing a grave threat to your safety.
Without proper signage or lifeguards to guide you, it is vital to remain vigilant and heed any natural warnings such as sudden changes in water color or unusually strong currents.
In light of these hazards, we strongly advise all visitors to exercise caution and refrain from swimming alone. Always inform someone on the land of your plans,
and never underestimate the power of the ocean.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
*Service fees are non-refundable.
