Mar Azul 16. Barefoot, sand, and sun make the best combination in this 3 story home with 8 air-conditioned bedrooms sleeping 24 people.
Located within the private Mar Azul Estate.  Mar Azul 16 is a perfect beach holiday home for a family get-together or friends reunion.

PLEASE NOTE – There is a minimum of 2 nights stay during low season.

Sleeping Arrangements

Mar Azul 16 sleeps 24 guests.
Downstairs.
Bedroom 1 – 1 Queen-size bed. Air-conditioned.
Bedroom 2 – 2 Double bunk beds with sliding beds (sleeps 6 children). Air-conditioned.
Bedroom 3 – 2 Double bunk beds with sliding beds (sleeps 6 children). Air-conditioned.
Upstairs (Sea View).
Bedroom 4 – Queen-size bed. Main En-suite. Air-conditioned.
Bedroom 5 – Queen-size bed. Air-conditioned.
Bedroom 6 – Queen-size bed. Air-conditioned.
Bedroom 7 – Queen-size bed. Air-conditioned.
Bedroom 8 – Queen-size bed – Upstairs (Inland View). Air-conditioned.

All linen is provided.

There are 5 bathrooms and each of them has a shower and bath.
Bath and hand towels are supplied.

Your Space

The kitchen at Mar Azul 16 is fully equipped Self-cater for 24 guests and comes with
Double sliding door fridge.
Wine fridge.
2 Bar fridges.
5 Plate gas stove.
Electric oven.
Dishwasher.
Cooler water machine.

The bar has 2 bar fridges and all glasses and bar equipment are provided.
There are 2 lounges, 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs.

There is no TV.

The open plan kitchen/lounge/bar area opens up onto a large outside wooden deck.
The bottom deck has a table for 24 people, an outside gas braai, sun tanning beds with mattresses, chairs, and a coffee table.
Gas Braai Note: Kindly note that the gas braai must only be used for gas braai purposes, in the event that it is used for any other means i.e. charcoal braai/log fire, then guests will be charged for a replacement unit.

There is a 6×4 meter swimming pool on this deck.
(Swimming pool Does NOT have safety nets)

The storeroom has a large chest-deep freezer, a fishing chest-deep freezer, a washing machine, and a tumble dryer.

There is an outside shower to rinse the beach sand off after a day at the beach.

There is a backup generator in the case of power outages at your own cost.
Please ask the staff if you need to use it and you will need to supply the fuel.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area and to Mar Azul Beach Estate, otherwise secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Fee –

There is a compulsory staff Payment. Daniel is the gardener and the housekeeper is Tina.
Daniel manages the unit & has an assistant who assists him daily with the cleaning of the unit.
They work from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
You will need to instruct them at what time you require them.
Daniel is available to assist with carrying beach items to and from the beach, however, guests will need to communicate with him to inform him that they require his service.
Daniel: Must be paid R100 per day (From 1st day of guest arrival, up until & including the day of departure).
Assistant: Must be paid R100 per day (From 1st day of guest arrival, up until & including the day of departure).
All money must be paid to Daniel in full before departure, & he will distribute it accordingly.
NB: Please do not leave any alcohol behind for the staff.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case. Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes. Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices. The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village and it is advisable to bring bottled drinking water.

Please note we make use of a septic system, and don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper. Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT = to 1-night stay is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out – NOT PERMITTED at Mar Azul 16.
PLEASE – It is extremely important
to stick to the check-in and check-out times
as they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.

Please note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if additional guests are staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Swimming Pool –
The swimming pool at all the houses has no safety features.
Use of the swimming pool and the associated amenities and facilities are strictly at your own risk. Ponta Malongane Accommodation, Homeowner, and the Estate booked at cannot be held responsible in the event of accidental injury and or death.

Swimming in the Ocean
We would like to extend a crucial reminder to all visitors planning to swim in the beautiful waters of Mozambique. 
While the allure of Mozambique’s pristine beaches may be enticing, it is imperative to exercise extreme caution when venturing into the ocean.
We regret to inform you that many beaches in Mozambique lack signpost warnings and are not equipped with lifeguards,
significantly increasing the risks associated with swimming.
One of the most significant dangers to be aware of is the presence of rip tides.
These powerful currents can swiftly pull even the strongest swimmers out to sea, posing a grave threat to your safety.
Without proper signage or lifeguards to guide you, it is vital to remain vigilant and heed any natural warnings such as sudden changes in water color or unusually strong currents.
In light of these hazards, we strongly advise all visitors to exercise caution and refrain from swimming alone. Always inform someone on the land of your plans,
and never underestimate the power of the ocean.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
*Service fees are non-refundable.
