MAR AZUL 4.

Mar Azul 4 is a 4 bedroom, 10 sleeper self-catering home set on the beachfront row of houses. Having its own private walkway leading directly onto the beach with long golden sands and the waves lapping on the shore.

This house is the owner’s second home away from home and has been equipped and furnished to make your stay most comfortable.

Sleeping Arrangements

Mar Azul 4 sleeps, 10 guests. (8 adults and 2 children under 12 years)
Bedroom 1 – Queen-size bed with a single roll-out bed underneath.
(2 adults and 1 child)
Bedroom 2 – Double bed and 1 single bed.
These 2 bedrooms share 1 bathroom which has a shower, toilet, and hand basin.

On the right of the house, there are bedrooms 3 and 4.
Bedroom 3 – Queen-size bed (2 adults)
Bedroom 4 – Double bed (2 adults)
These 2 bedrooms share 1 bathroom which has a shower, toilet, and hand basin.

2 of the bedrooms open up onto the outside deck and you can feel the cool ocean breeze while having your morning coffee in bed.
The other 2 bedrooms look out into the coastal forest.

All beds have mosquito beds and overhead ceiling fans, No air-con. The bedroom photos show aircons but they do not work.
All linen is provided.

Your Space

The Deck – Relax, read a book and sip on wine on the deck whilst marvelling at the ocean. Time, and worries of the rest of the world, will melt away as you are captured by the serenity of this beautiful location.
There is a gas braai on the outside deck overlooking the ocean, gas is supplied.
There is also a charcoal braai behind the house for those windy days.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering.
3 Fridges.
1 Deep freeze.
Electric oven.
Glass stovetop.
2 Electric chip fryers.
Kettle.
Coffee plungers.
Filter coffee machine with paper filters/glass coffee pot.
And all crockery and cutlery required for self-catering.

The house has a backup generator for when there are power outages.
No candles are allowed inside the house as the house is built from wood and this is a fire hazard.

• Adapters/ Cell phone chargers.
• First aid kit.
• Binoculars and camera.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area and to Mar Azul Beach Estate, otherwise secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Tip –

Daily staff tip – Anna is the housekeeper, she only works at this house and does cleaning daily. If you would like laundry done please bring skip washing powder or liquid with you and ask Anna to do the laundry for you, only Anna is allowed to operate the washing machine. Please feel free to tip her at your discretion.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case.
Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes.
Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices.
The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village and it is advisable to bring bottled drinking water.

Please note we make use of a septic system, don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper.
Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 4000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out is on request only. This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure. Should the house be available, we will deduct the extra charge of R800.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The latest check-out time is
14:30 pm – any later and they will retain the full breakage deposit.  

Please take note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if there are additional guests staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit. 

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
*Service fees are non-refundable.
