Mar Azul 5 Rates and Availability – All reservations are subject to an additional 2.25% lodge/estate administration fee, calculated on the total accommodation value. Not included in the rate slider.

MAR AZUL 5.

Mar Azul 5 is a large 7-bedroom, 14-sleeper beachfront house at the Mar Azul Estate. French doors open to the large deck, inviting a lovely sea breeze to keep you cool on hot summer days, plus endless sea views.

Bedroom 5 – 2 Single beds. En-Suite.
Bedroom 6 – 2 Single beds. En-Suite.
Bedroom 7 – 2 Single beds. En-Suite.

The 3 downstairs bedrooms have French doors and a lovely sea breeze to keep you cool.
All beds have mosquito nets and overhead ceiling fans.
All linen is provided.
There are 5 bathrooms with showers, basins, toilets, and hot-and-cold running water.
The 3 downstairs bedrooms are en-suite, and the 4 upstairs bedrooms share 2 bathrooms.

Your Space

A fully equipped kitchen with
3 fridges/freezers,
4-hob electric stove and oven,
Double sink,
Crockery and cutlery, pots, pans, duvets, and bed linen.
There is also a large dining table with benches to seat 14 people on the deck.

Mar Azul 5 has a private braai area. The deck has a gas braai that can be moved to either side depending on the wind.

An outside shower next to the house has cold water to rinse off sand and salt when you return from the beach.

Please note: Mar Azul 5 does not provide a microwave.
AND there is No TV.

No candles are allowed inside the house, as it is built from wood and poses a fire hazard.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area and Mar Azul Beach Estate; otherwise, you can arrange secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer at an extra cost. After that, you will need to use the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around the area.

Staff Fee –

Dudu is the housekeeper. Please feel free to tip her at the end of your stay if you wish.
She is extremely hard-working and speaks very little English. Oros, our off-site manager, is available to handle day-to-day issues and help convey messages to Dudu if she doesn’t understand you. She will clean the house, make beds, wash dishes, etc. She will only do bed linen laundry if the weather permits. There is a washing machine; only Dudu uses it, and it’s for linen only. If you would like laundry done, it’s at an extra charge.
You are not obliged to feed her, but any leftover food is much appreciated.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 4000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. We will refund the balance to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so they can notify the homeowner.

House Rules –

Late check-out Fee – R 1500.00
Late check-out is on request only.
This is due to incoming bookings on your departure day.
If the house is available, we will deduct R 1500.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The late check-out time is 3 pm.
If you are late, they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.

Guests can collect keys to the unit from the housekeeper on arrival.
Please try to arrive between 2pm and 4pm to collect the keys, or they will be left with security.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: If you are booking Mar Azul 5 together with additional houses at Mar Azul Estate or in the surrounding area, guests from other houses are not permitted to gather or have meals at Mar Azul 5. The house infrastructure cannot accommodate additional groups.

Under no circumstances may Mar Azul 5 be booked for any function or event, including:
Birthday parties
Weddings
Functions
Events

Please note that no extra guests are allowed beyond the house’s maximum occupancy; any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate will be fined if additional guests stay at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.

Do not move any beds or mattresses from the bedrooms. Due to damage caused whilst doing so, the breakage deposit will be retained should you do so

If a group of young people books at the property, please note that all guests under 25 years old must be accompanied by a parent or adult supervisor.

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules, then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case.
Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes.
Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices.
The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village and it is advisable to bring bottled drinking water.

Please note we make use of a septic system, don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper.
Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)

Swimming in the Ocean
We would like to remind all visitors planning to swim in the beautiful waters of Mozambique.
While Mozambique’s pristine beaches may be enticing, it is imperative to exercise extreme caution when venturing into the ocean.
We regret to inform you that many beaches in Mozambique lack signpost warnings and are not equipped with lifeguards,
significantly increasing the risks associated with swimming.
One of the most significant dangers is the presence of rip tides.
These powerful currents can quickly pull even strong swimmers out to sea, posing a serious threat to your safety.
Without proper signage or lifeguards to guide you, stay vigilant and heed natural warnings such as sudden changes in water color or unusually strong currents.
Given these hazards, we strongly advise all visitors to exercise caution and avoid swimming alone. Always inform someone on the land of your plans,
and never underestimate the power of the ocean.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
