MAR AZUL 5.
Mar Azul 5 is a large 7 bedroom, 14 sleeper beachfront house at the Mar Azul Estate. French doors opening up to the large deck inviting a lovely sea-breeze to keep you cool during those hot summer days and not forgetting those endless sea views.

Bedroom 1 – 1 x King Size bed.
Bedroom 2 – 1 x King Size bed.
Bedroom 3 – 1 x Double bed.
Bedroom 4 – 1 x Double bed.
Bedroom 5 – 2 Single beds. En-Suite.
Bedroom 6 – 2 Single beds. En-Suite.
Bedroom 7 – 2 Single beds. En-Suite.
The 3 downstairs bedrooms have french doors and a lovely sea breeze to keep you cool.
All beds have mosquito beds and overhead ceiling fans.
All linen is provided.
There are 5 bathrooms with showers, basins, toilets, and hot and cold running water.
The 3 downstairs bedrooms are en-suite and the 4 upstairs bedrooms share 2 bathrooms.
A fully equipped kitchen with 3 fridges/freezers, 4 hobs electric stove, and oven, double sink, all crockery and cutlery, pots, pans, duvets, and bed linen.
There is also a large dining table with benches to seat 14 people on the deck.
Gas braai on the deck can be moved to either side of the deck depending on the wind.
There is an outside shower next to the house with cold water to rinse off the sand and salt when coming back from the beach.
Mar Azul 5 shares an outside braai with Mar Azul House 6, so please just arrange with them so that you do not braai at the same time.
No candles are allowed inside the house as the house is built from wood and this is a fire hazard.

• Binoculars and camera.
Guest Access –
An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area and to Mar Azul Beach Estate, otherwise secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.
Staff Tip –
Dudu is the housekeeper. Please feel free to give her a tip at the end of your stay if you wish.
She is extremely hard working and speaks very little English. Oros, our offsite manager, is available to sort our day-to-day problems and assist with conveying messages to Dudu if she doesn’t understand you. She will clean the house, make beds, wash dishes, etc. She will only do bed linen laundry if the weather permits. There is a washing machine, only Dudu uses the washing machine, and it’s used for linen only. If you would like laundry done it’s at an extra charge.
You are not obliged to feed her, but any leftover food is much appreciated.
Other Things To Note –
Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case.
Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes.
Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices.
The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village and it is advisable to bring bottled drinking water.
Please note we make use of a septic system, don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper.
Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent, etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.
REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 4000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.
House Rules –
Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out is on request only. This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure. Should the house be available, we will deduct the extra charge of R800.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The latest check-out time is
14:30 pm – any later and they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please take note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if there are additional guests staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.
Cancellation Policy –
Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
*Service fees are non-refundable.
