TARTARUGA VERDE WAKENE BEACH ESTATE

Tartaruga Verde at Wakene Beach Estate is a place where the ocean and forest meet in magnificent splendor. Inspired by the artistry of contemporary architecture with a Balinese twist, this tastefully appointed, meticulously fitted, seaside home has 2 sea-facing and 2 forest-facing bedrooms.

Perched on top of the front dunes of an immaculate beach and boasts magnificent 180-degree views of the Indian Ocean and beachfront. Just a few meters above sea level, Tartaruga Verde overlooks the open space and coastal dune forest, a stroll away from the sea sand and surf. Enjoy the sound of crashing waves, interspersed with singing birdlife found in the lush indigenous garden and pool area.

Wakene Beach Estate is located on 18 acres of Coastal Dune Forest with its own beachfront, 2 km North of Ponta Malongane, 7 km from Ponta do Ouro, and 15km from the Kosi Bay border.

Sleeping Arrangements

Tartaruga Verde sleeps 12 guests in 4 bedrooms.
Sea-facing bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 – Queen bed. En-suite
Bedroom 2 – 2 Single beds. En-suite.
Dune forest bedrooms.
Bedroom 3 – King-size bed and 2 single beds in the loft room. En-suite.
Bedroom 4 – 2 Single beds and 2 single beds in the loft room. En-suite.
Both loft rooms are perfect for children but spacious enough to accommodate 2 adults.

Each of the 4 bedrooms is private and comfy, with en-suite bathrooms & each with its own deck/balcony with a table and 2 chairs.
The bedrooms all have ceiling fans, with hotel-quality mattresses.
All bed linen supplied: pillows, sheets, duvets & extra blankets.

Your Space

Tartaruga Verde – The Deck which spacious yet intimate deck area flows seamlessly from the living area. With all the comforts you will need to soak in the magnificent stretches of the beach and the endless Indian Ocean. (The house has a private walkway to the beach)

The dining & lounge areas are open plan to the kitchen allowing for great family interaction, but spacious enough to read a book in the corner undisturbed.

“Put-your-feet-up” coffee table.

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you would expect at home & to bring out your inner “tropical chef”.

Rates

Breakage deposit – R 2000.00
A minimum of 2 nights stay and a minimum of 4 adults charge during low season.
Children 4-12 years – half price
Children 0-3 years – no charge
Minimum of 7 nights stays during peak season. Unit rate applies.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 vehicle is essential for access to the area and Wakene Beach Estate, otherwise, secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Fee – 
Tartaruga Verde at Wakene Beach Estate is serviced by a housekeeper once a day. 
There is a compulsory daily staff Fee.
R 150.00 per day per staff member (1).
This includes the day of arrival and the day of departure.
This will be added to your invoice for pre-payment.
The staff make beds, sweep, mop, wash dishes, clean bathrooms, etc.
The staff leave at 14h30.
Clients can discuss earlier departure times with staff.
Tipping other staff members on the estate such as
security and maintenance is not mandatory but is up to your discretion.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case. Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes. Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices. The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the Ponta Malongane village It is advisable to bring OR buy bottled drinking water.

Please note we make use of a septic system, and don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper. Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 2000.00 payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
An R 800.00 charge will be levied for early check-in and late check-outs (2:30 pm – Latest).
No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Will be sent with reservation form.
