TREETOP HAVEN WAKENE BEACH ESTATE

Treetop Haven at Wakene Beach Estate, Ponta Malongane is built on stilts, high up in the treetops of the beautiful dune forest, and boasts amazing ocean views from almost every angle.
Wakene Beach Estate is located on 18 acres of Coastal Dune Forest with its own beachfront, 2 km North of Ponta Malongane, 7 km from Ponta do Ouro, and 15km from the Kosi Bay border.

Sleeping Arrangements

Treetop Haven sleeps 10 guests in 3 bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 – 2 single beds and – En suite
Bedroom 2 – Double bed and 1 bunk bed
Bedroom 3 – Double bed and 1 bunk bed.
Offering stunning sea and forest views. The 3 rooms have their own patio and are linked with one another via wooden walkways. They have large windows and sliding doors and the exposed beams offer a cool and airy feel. Each room also has a ceiling fan.
All linen and bath towels are provided.

Your Space

Treetop Haven – The main building has a lounge area with rattan furniture and a large main deck with a gas braai and a large table where meals can be enjoyed. At the back of the main building is the scullery area as well as the ablutions which consist of 2 x showers and 2 x toilets.
The kitchen in the main building has all the conveniences for self-catering.

Chest freezer.
Microwave.
Dining table and benches.
Toaster.
Kettle.
Ice machine.
Braai.
Ice Trays.

Rates

Breakage deposit – R 2000.00
A minimum of 2 nights stay and a minimum of 4 adults charge during low season.
Children 4-12 years – R 250.00 per child per night.
Children 0-3 years – no charge
Minimum of 7 nights stays during peak season. Unit rate applies.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 vehicle is essential for access to the area and Wakene Beach Estate, otherwise secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.
Staff Fee – 
Tree Top at Wakene Beach Estate is serviced by a housekeeper once a day.
There is a compulsory daily staff Fee.
R 150.00 per day per staff member (1).
This includes the day of arrival and the day of departure.
This will be added to your invoice for pre-payment.
The staff make beds, sweep, mop, wash dishes, clean bathrooms, etc.
The staff leave at 14h30.
Clients can discuss earlier departure times with staff.
Tipping other staff members on the estate such as
security and maintenance is not mandatory but is up to your discretion.

Other Things To Note –

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case. Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes. Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices. The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the Ponta Malongane village It is advisable to bring OR buy bottled drinking water.
Please note we make use of a septic system, and don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper. Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.
REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 2000.00 payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
A charge will be levied for early check-in and late check-outs.
No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Will be sent with reservation form.
