Areia Branca 1 in Ponta Malongane – Beautifully designed and stylishly decorated Areia Branca 1 is a 10 sleeper self-catering home located in the private Areia Branca Beach Estate which is set between Kangela Beach Estate and Mar Azul Beach Estate.

Sleeping Arrangements

Areia Branca 1 sleeps 10 guests (8 adults and 2 children) in 4 en-suite bedrooms and is equipped with ceiling fans and a portable air conditioner.
Bedroom 1 – 2 x Single beds. Can be converted to a Double bed. En-suite. Portable air conditioner.
Bedroom 2 – 2 x Single beds. Can be converted to a Double bed. En-suite. Portable air conditioner.
Bedroom 3 – 2 x Single beds. Can be converted to a Double bed. En-suite. Portable air conditioner.
Bedroom 4 – 2 x Single beds. Can be converted to a Double bed. En-suite. Portable air conditioner.

The beds in each of the bedrooms are 2 single beds and then can be converted into double beds or kept apart as single beds if needed. Please arrange this prior to arrival so we can advise the staff accordingly on how to set up the beds.
Each bedroom is comfortably furnished with ceiling fans and en suite bathrooms. Each bathroom has a shower, basin, and toilet.  Sheets/duvet covers are 100% cotton percale.
There is a sleeper couch in the living area suitable for 2 children. 

All linen is provided.

Your Space

Areia Branca 1 – The living area has DSTV (no need to take a card and decoder with it, it is set up), flatscreen TV.
The whole house has ceiling fans.
The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering.
Built-in braai.

Areia Branca 1 is private and has gorgeous sea views.
A large wooden deck surrounds the house and offers space for entertaining around a swimming pool and braai area.
(Swimming pool Does NOT have safety nets)

Ice can be bought from the market as well as from local shebeens in Ponta Malongane Village.
Serviced daily and supplied with toilet paper, soaps, cleaning materials, doom and toilet spray.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 vehicle is essential for access to the area and Areia Branca Beach Estate, otherwise secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Tip –

There is a compulsory daily staff tip of R 100.00 per housekeeper per day, this includes your day of arrival and departure.
Please ensure you have enough Rands or Mzn cash on your day of departure date.

Other Things To Note –

Please take note that the swimming pool does not have a child safety net.
Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case. Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes. Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices.
The Estates uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour.
PLEASE NOTE NOTE should you wish to wash your clothing with this water, it could stain your clothing.
For drinking water, should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the Ponta Malongane village. It is advisable to bring OR buy bottled drinking water.

Please note we make use of a septic system, don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper. Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of 1-night stay is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out Fee – R 1500.00
Late check-out is on request only.
This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure.
Should the house be available, we will deduct the R 1500.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The late check-out time is 3 pm. 
Any later and they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.

Please take note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if additional guests are staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
*Service fees are non-refundable.
