Mar Azul 13  is located within the Maz Azul Estate in Ponta Malongane, Mozambique. Mar Azul 13 is a spacious beach holiday home that offers the perfect blend of comfort and simplicity for families or groups seeking a seaside escape with gorgeous 180-degree sea views.
Mar Azul 13 sleeps 12 people in 4 bedrooms, 3 of which are en-suite.
Kindly take note: absolutely NO PARTIES are allowed at this property; you will immediately be asked to vacate the premises if you do not adhere to the above.

Bedroom 4 – 1 x Double bed. En Suite. Ocean Views.
Bedroom 5 – Loft room with 3 single beds and a pull-out couch, ideal for single youngsters.
A convenient bathroom downstairs has a shower, toilet, and basin.
All linen is provided.
Kindly note: No children under 8 years old due to the very low railing on the deck, which can be dangerous for toddlers and small children.

The well-equipped kitchen at Mar Azul 13 includes:

The wooden deck overlooking the ocean creates the ideal outdoor area to relax on the loungers, enjoy meals at the outdoor table, braai on the Weber charcoal braai, or cool off in the outdoor shower.
In addition to being sea-facing and receiving a cool sea breeze throughout the day, the house has fans throughout to keep you cool on warm summer days.
This beachside haven invites you to unwind, recharge, and soak in the coast’s beauty.

Staff Fee –
Gilda will be looking after you for the duration of your stay. If you have any questions or need help with anything, please just ask.
There is no compulsory staff tip, but a gratuity would be most welcome should you feel that she has gone above and beyond.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 4000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages, lost keys, and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area and to Mar Azul Beach Estate; otherwise, secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Afterward, you will need to use the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around the area.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Check-out: 10:00 AM
Late check-out Fee – R 1500.00
Late check-out is on request only.
This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure.
Should the house be available, we will deduct the R 1500.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The late check-out time is 3 pm.
If you check out later, they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.
Please note that no extra guests are allowed beyond the house’s maximum occupancy; any additional person will be asked to leave.
The homeowners at the estate are fined if additional guests stay at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.
No beds or mattresses are to be moved from any of the bedrooms due to damage caused whilst doing so. The Breakage deposit will be retained if beds are moved.
If a group of young people books the property, all guests under 25 years old must be accompanied by a parent or adult supervisor.
No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
If you do not adhere to these rules, the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.
To try and keep everyone safe and happy, please take note of some of our important House Rules:
The speed limit in the resort is 10km/hr.
Please respect the 10:00 pm noise restriction – Loud music is not much fun when you are not at the party.
No fireworks are allowed.
All of our houses are made of wood, and this could go horribly wrong.
No children under 18 are allowed to ride a quad bike. (Please note that this is Mozambican law, not our rules).
No littering. We know this sounds really obvious, but you would be amazed. We’d really appreciate it if you removed two pieces of rubbish from the beach each time you go.
No unattended open fires. Yep, we already said it: the houses are made of wood, and we don’t want to light up the sky.
A fish cleaning/gutting station is near security.
Please use this area so we can contain the smell and keep it clean, so you don’t get a fly in your drink.
For security reasons, all casual labor must be sourced via the Mar Azul Manager.
No access card, no entry. Guests must advise Security in advance of any visitors.
If their name is not on the Security list, they will not be allowed access.
Abuse of the Security staff will absolutely not be tolerated.
They are here to look after us, so please treat them with respect.

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case. Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes. You can also purchase Mozambique SIM cards and data at reasonable prices in the local market in Ponta Malongane. The Estate uses borehole water, which is usually brownish.
If you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village, but we recommend bringing your own drinking water.
Please note that we use a septic system, so don’t flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilets. Guests must bring their own consumables, e.g. food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc.
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.
Swimming in the Ocean
We would like to extend a crucial reminder to all visitors planning to swim in the beautiful waters of Mozambique.
While the allure of Mozambique’s pristine beaches may be enticing, it is imperative to exercise extreme caution when venturing into the ocean.
We regret to inform you that many beaches in Mozambique lack warning signs, and the absence of lifeguards significantly increases the risks associated with swimming.
One of the biggest dangers is rip tides.
These powerful currents can swiftly pull even the strongest swimmers out to sea, posing a grave threat to your safety.
Without proper signage or lifeguards to guide you, it is vital to remain vigilant and heed any natural warnings such as sudden changes in water color or unusually strong currents.
In light of these hazards, we strongly advise all visitors to exercise caution and refrain from swimming alone. Always inform someone on the land of your plans,
and never underestimate the power of the ocean.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival: 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival: 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
