Mar Azul 13  is located within the Maz Azul Estate in Ponta Malongane, Mozambique. Mar Azul 13 is a spacious beach holiday home that offers the perfect blend of comfort and simplicity for families or groups seeking a seaside escape with gorgeous 180-degree sea views.

Mar Azul 13, sleeps 12 people in 4 bedrooms, 3 of which are en-suite.

Kindly take note, absolutely NO PARTIES are allowed at this property, you will immediately be asked to vacate the premises if you do not adhere to the above.

PLEASE NOTE that there is a minimum of 2-night stays at Mar Azul 22

Sleeping Arrangements

Mar Azul 13 sleeps 12 guests in 4 bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 – 1 x Queen Bed. En Suite. Ocean Views.
Bedroom 2 – 2 Single beds. En Suite. 
Bedroom 3 – 2 Single beds. 
Bedroom 4 – 1 x Double bed. En Suite. Ocean Views.
Bedroom 5 – is a loft room with 3 single beds and a pull-out couch, ideal for single youngsters. 
There is a convenient bathroom downstairs with a shower, toilet, and basin. 

All linen is provided.

Kindly Note – No children under 8 years old due to the very low railing on the deck which can be dangerous for toddlers and small children.

The well-equipped kitchen at Mar Azul 13 includes a

There is a separate scullery area with an extra fridge.

The wooden deck overlooking the ocean creates the ideal outdoor area to relax on the loungers, enjoy meals at the outdoor table, braai on the Weber charcoal braai, or cool off in the outdoor shower.
In addition to the house being sea-facing and receiving a cool sea breeze throughout the day, there are fans throughout the house to keep you cool on those warm summer days.
This beachside haven invites you to unwind, recharge, and soak in the beauty of the coast.

Guest Access –

An off-road 4X4 or 2×4 with a diff lock vehicle is essential for access to the area and to Mar Azul Beach Estate, otherwise, secure parking at Kosi Bay Border Post and a border transfer can be arranged at extra cost. Thereafter you will have to make use of the transfer company to arrange additional transfers if you need to get around in the area.

Staff Fee –
Gilda will be looking after you for the duration of your stay. If you have any questions or need help with anything please just ask.
There is no compulsory staff tip, but a gratuity would be most welcome should you feel that she has gone above and beyond.

PLEASE NOTE: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES CAN MOSQUITO COILS BE BURNT IN ANY AREA OF THE HOUSE. THANK YOU. THE OWNERS.

Power cuts in the area are a challenge and generally out of our control. Please bring torches just in case. Cellphone reception is a challenge that can be a blessing in disguise. You can get signals in some locations higher up on the dunes. Mozambique sim cards and data can also be purchased in the local market in Ponta Malongane at reasonable prices. The Estate uses borehole water which is usually brownish in colour. Should you prefer bottled water, it is available in the village and it is advisable to bring bottled drinking water.

Please note we make use of a septic system, and don’t flush other products down the toilets besides toilet paper. Guests must bring their own consumables e.g. (food and liquids, mosquito repellent,  etc)
Keys to the unit can be collected from the housekeeper on arrival.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT of R 4000.00 is payable 1 month before arrival and refunded within 14 days of departure. Any breakages and lost keys and/or remotes will be deducted from this deposit. The balance will be refunded to your bank account. Please report any breakages to the housekeepers before you depart. If you find items broken on your 1st day of arrival, please report them to the housekeeper so that they can let the homeowner know.

House Rules –

Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Checkout: 10:00 AM
Late check-out Fee – R 1500.00
Late check-out is on request only.
This is due to incoming bookings on the day of your departure.
Should the house be available, we will deduct the R 1500.00 from your refundable breakage deposit. The late check-out time is 3 pm.
Any later and they will retain the full breakage deposit.
Please stick to the check-in and check-out times to avoid issues.

Please take note that no extra guests will be allowed over and above the maximum occupancy of a house – any additional person will be asked to leave. The homeowners at the estate get fined if additional guests are staying at the house. This will affect the refund of the breakage deposit.

No smoking.
No pets.
No parties, Loud music, or events/ functions will be allowed.
Reduced noise after 10 pm.
Should you not adhere to these rules then the Estate will retain the full breakage deposit.

Swimming in the Ocean
We would like to extend a crucial reminder to all visitors planning to swim in the beautiful waters of Mozambique.
While the allure of Mozambique’s pristine beaches may be enticing, it is imperative to exercise extreme caution when venturing into the ocean.
We regret to inform you that many beaches in Mozambique lack signpost warnings and are not equipped with lifeguards,
significantly increasing the risks associated with swimming.
One of the most significant dangers to be aware of is the presence of rip tides.
These powerful currents can swiftly pull even the strongest swimmers out to sea, posing a grave threat to your safety.
Without proper signage or lifeguards to guide you, it is vital to remain vigilant and heed any natural warnings such as sudden changes in water color or unusually strong currents.
In light of these hazards, we strongly advise all visitors to exercise caution and refrain from swimming alone. Always inform someone on the land of your plans,
and never underestimate the power of the ocean.

Cancellation Policy –

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival 70% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival 0% of the accommodation total will be refunded.
